Thorpe Park will be encouraging carsharing between staff as part of National liftshare Day, which takes place on 9th June.

With over 38 million empty seats on the UK’s roads every day it is now starting to be widely recognised that car-sharing could be the solution to many of the UK’s transport problems. Car-sharing is a simple and effective way of increasing individual mobility, helping motorists keep down their travel costs, making more efficient use of space on the UK’s roads and help the environment by cutting harmful exhaust emissions.

Thorpe Park will be encouraging car-sharing between staff as part of National liftshare Day, which takes place on 9th June.

The aim is to encourage staff to try car-sharing with a colleague, or with a member of staff from another organisation based at Thorpe Park, on 9th June in the hope that they will then realise the benefits of sharing cars on a more regular basis, thereby reducing congestion, car parking issues and pollution in the local area.
Individuals can access the Thorpe Park Car Share Scheme by clicking here and register their journey for free. They can then find other local people with whom to share their journey to work, to the shops - anywhere!
