Fare discount schemes

There are many ways of paying for bus travel, whether you use the bus every day or just for one off journeys.

There are also many ways of actually buying your ticket, including the good old fashioned way of buying a ticket from the driver, or through new technology such as your mobile phone.

At Thorpe Park we have identified a range of ticketing options available to bus users, and highlighted where you are able to save money!

MetroCard

Metro has a range of season tickets, day tickets and passes to help you make the most of public transport in West Yorkshire, and beyond. For commuters, the most appropriate ticket option is usually the MetroCard.

MetroCard cuts the cost of regular travel in West Yorkshire, and can be purchased weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. MetroCards can be used just for travel by bus, or can include journeys by train within the zones you select.

Full details on the range of MetroCard options can be found by visiting the Metro website(click here).

Details on how to buy your MetroCard can be found by clicking here.

Additional savings of up to 15% are available to any member of staff whose company has signed up to the Company MetroCard scheme. For further details e-mail the Thorpe Park Travel Plan Co-ordinator at john.hacker@travelplanservices.co.uk

Arriva

If you’re planning to travel regularly on Arriva buses you could save money when you buy multi-journey Saver tickets. These tickets include the Arriva Day Saver, Arriva Weekly Saver, and Arriva 4-weekly Saver.

Tickets can be purchased either from the driver, through your mobile phone as an m-ticket, or through your local PayPoint.

For further details please visit the Arriva website by clicking here

First

First offer a wide range of ticketing options including FirstDay, FirstWeek, FirstMonth and FirstYear.

Depending on how regularly you travel on First buses these ticket options could stand to save you plenty of money throughout the year, with an annual pass costing the equivalent of just £1.70 a day!

For further details on the range of ticketing options offered by First visit their website by clicking here

First also offer a number of Corporate ticketing schemes for organisations wishing to offer cheaper bus travel to staff. For further details please contact the Thorpe Park Travel Plan Coordinator at john.hacker@travelplanservices.co.uk
