City Connect are offering free adult cycle training sessions with a qualified cycling instructor.
Choose between learn to ride and beginner group sessions or one-to-one commuter training on a route of your choice.
One-to-One Commuter Training
Would you like to commute by bike but lack the confidence and/or skills to tackle your route to work? Get a free socially distant one-to-one session with a qualified instructor on a route of your choice in West Yorkshire through City Connect.
To take part you must:
- be aged 16+
- already have access to a roadworthy bike
- be confident cycling on traffic-free routes and, ideally, quiet residential streets.
What the session will cover:
- Journey planning – how to make use of segregated cycle lanes and traffic-free routes, as well as quieter streets
- Expert advice from a qualified instructor on how to cycle on the road safely, including positioning and visibility
- How to check your bike is safe to ride and what to do if it’s not.
If you have a friend or work colleague who makes a similar journey by bike, you could even get a joint training session.
To book your free session in Leeds, simply send an email to adrian.ellis@cyclenorth.co.uk or info@cyclenorth.co.uk.
Learn to Ride and Beginners Sessions
If you’re looking to learn to ride for the first time or if you want to get back on a bike having not cycled in years, or even decades, these sessions are perfect for you!
Learn to Ride – for the complete beginners
The experienced instructors will guide you step by step, from getting on and off, to bike handling and balance.
Beginners – for the new or returning rider
These sessions are delivered in a traffic-free environment and are for people who can already ride but lack confidence. Pick up the skills and knowledge you need to go down to the local park or to take a trip out into the countryside.
