FREE Electric Cargo Bike Trials
You can now apply to rent an electric cargo bike (e-cargo bike) free of charge for a period of three months.
E-cargo bikes are fast becoming a cost efficient, easy to use and fun method of transport! They are a versatile way of transporting items with zero emissions and no associated costs like road tax or parking charges.
E-cargo bikes are pedal-assisted with a large storage area at the front, perfect for sustainable local deliveries and transporting items across Thorpe Park or the wider Leeds area. Any business or organisation in Leeds can apply to trial one.
Benefits to your business:
- They are fully tax deductible for businesses, they have no parking costs, minimal running costs and do not require a licence or road tax
- They are an environmentally friendly alternative to cars and motorbikes
- Studies show that they can improve a company’s image making customers more likely to repeat purchase
There are two e-cargo bikes for you to choose from:
Raleigh Electric Cargo Bike
- Pedal-assist electric up to 15.5mph
- Range of up to 75km
- Load capacity of 350L, with a max total weight of 200kg
Raleigh Electric Cargo Trike
- Pedal-assist electric up to 15.5mph
- Range of up to 75km
- Load capacity of 900L, with a max total weight of 200kg
Once the trial is over, Leeds City Council will produce a free report that shows you how you utilised the bikes. It will detail things like how much money and emissions your organisation could save by switching to electric cargo bikes.

- about the journeys you intend to make
